Mr Eduardo Ramirez-Bettoni

Principal Engineer, Xcel Energy

Eduardo is an Electrical Engineer with 16 years of international experience in substation design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of systems 500 kV and below. He has experience both as an electric utility employee and as a consultant.

Eduardo is a Principal Engineer in the Transmission & Substation Standards Department at Xcel Energy in Minneapolis. He has technical proficiency in both English and Spanish. He is currently supporting the company with standardization of engineering practices for design, construction, and O&M of substations. He serves as a technical expert in the fields of protection & control, substation physical design, arc flash, and grounding. Eduardo is very focused in quality control and safety.
Eduardo also has experience in owner’s engineering services, procurement of electrical equipment, estimation, and interconnection of generation.

In the past, Eduardo had the privilege to supervise multiple substation field crews and perform field work.

Eduardo’s specialties include Substation Design, Electric Utilities, Distributed Generation, Power System Protection and Control, Arc Flash Studies, Owner’s Engineering, Renewables: Solar and Wind Farms, Flexible AC Transmission Systems FACTS (SVCs, etc.), and Estimating (Construction, Engineering Services, Maintenance). He also trains and mentors technicians and engineers.
